When I wrote “Gross Potions” back in 2017 it was an exercise I did with my boys. At the time they were obsessed with the goings on at Hogwarts and writing Gross Potions was a fun way to get them into reading. It was a little raw and sillier with less plot. I eventually added it to it before publishing it 5 years ago.
I am happy to announce an exciting update for my middle-grade fantasy novel, “Gross Potions”; a brand new cover. While the original cover held a special place in my heart, I lost the file. The new one better captures more of the story’s contents.
I’ve also taken the time to meticulously proofread the entire book and have added dates to key events, providing a clearer timeline for the Gross family’s journey. These updates ensure that the story doesn’t have plot holes that I and a pair of seven-year-olds missed.
To celebrate, I am offering the eBook version of “Gross Potions” for FREE from June 18 to June 22. This is the perfect opportunity for new readers to discover the magic of the Gross family’s adventures.
For those unfamiliar with the tale, “Gross Potions” follows the curious grandson Ethan as he embarks on a globetrotting quest to find the ingredients for his Grandma Audrey’s magical potions after she mysteriously vanishes during her 70th birthday celebration. Guided by cryptic clues and a mischievous shapeshifting girl named Lizzie, Ethan and his family race from the glaciers of Iceland to the jungles of Cuba to unlock the secrets of Grandma’s research before it falls into the wrong hands.
When I set out to write “Gross Potions,” I wanted to create an allegory for the internet, with magic standing in for the wonders and perils of the digital world. Through the Gross family’s adventures, I explore the positive and negative aspects of this transformative technology.
As Ethan and his family navigate the twists and turns of their adventure, they discover the true power of love, courage, and the potential of the human spirit in a world increasingly shaped by the digital landscape.
I invite you to embark on this unforgettable journey with the Gross family and experience the magic for yourself. Don’t miss the FREE eBook promotion from June 18th – June 22
